Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum’s 2010 National Design Triennial entitled ‘Why Design Now?’ focused on innovative design work addressing social and environmental issues. The exhibition and the catalogue were organized by themes such as energy, mobility, communication and simplicity that cut across design fields and bring a surprising range of projects together in each section.
The catalogue is color coded by theme with a vibrant wash of background color, yielding a book that expresses the structure of the content and brings heightened energy and urgency to the page.
